Welcome to SHARPhub

The Sustainable Heartland Accelerator Regional Partnership Hub (SHARPhub) provides resources and assistance to universities to help early-stage technologies become viable startup companies.

SHARPhub was initially created with funding from a 2018 National Institutes of Health (NIH) FastTrack STTR grant awarded to BBCetc. Over the past five years, SHARPhub has helped dozens of researchers and entrepreneurs secure government SBIR/STTR funding and build successful companies.

Because SHARPhub is an initiative of BBCetc,

participants have access to the deep experience of BBCetc consultants who have worked with a wide range of clients from individual companies and entrepreneurs to universities, Small Business Development Centers and tech-based economic development organizations across the U.S. The team offers expertise in all 11 participating federal agencies as well as grants/contracts management and commercialization planning.

A significant part of SHARPhub’s focus is helping startups develop competitive SBIR and STTR grant applications to provide seed capital to fund early stage research and development. These two federal programs provide a compelling source of non-dilutive funding that encourages technology-based small companies to explore high risk technologies and profit from their commercialization.

SHARPhub focuses on training, early-stage funding, mentoring, and networking to help innovators accelerate the transfer of biomedical technology to the commercial market.
